Do Your Walls Match Your Style

Do Your Walls Match Your Style

Ever walked into a place with only solid bare white walls and thought about how bland or even depressing it looks? This is the prime example of how walls and the color of their paint help set a mood and feel to the room or place they are in. Everyone knows colors hold a lot of psychological value for humans but have you wondered if your walls show off your style? Here’s a list of wall colors and the “personality” they define… do they match yours?

Warm Colors: Reds, Oranges, Yellows

Red, orange, and yellow are colors of fire but rather than radiating fierceness, passion, and a blazing style, they actually represent a soft cheerfulness. This is because these color walls automatically close in a room, making it look cozy and comfortable, therefore representing and comfortable and warm style to you.

Flowery Colors: Varying Shades of Pinks and Purples

These colors seem to bubble up in a subtle way. Attention grabbing and bright, walls of any colors related to pink or purple represent a style that is not afraid to be recognized and a general activeness. Contrary to popular belief, these colors are not always associated with being “girly” many shades of pink and purple depict youth and energy but it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re girly.

Cool Shades: All Shades of Light Blue, Light Greens, Aqua

These are colors that humans automatically associate with the ocean or the sky. Both of these images are vast and open, which is why walls of these colors give a wide, expansive air to the room and generally people with open-minded and calm personalities lean towards such colors.

Colors of Nature: Leaf/Dark Greens & Mud Browns

It may sound ironic or perhaps even cliche, but if you have a down to earth personality, going for nature greens and browns can silently show off your style for you. Visitors, upon seeing such walls, get an outdoorsy feeling and along with that comes a humbleness and modesty associated with your style. However, it must be noted that this feeling is most often brought out when these greens and browns are used together in a room, solid leaf green or mud brown can tone down the effect.

Minimalist: White, Off-White, Black, Gray, Dark Blue/Navy

If you like staying modern, forward, advanced, and up to date, and want your walls to give off the same style, minimalist colors are for you. These colors don’t represent any adjective for your style per se, but they do show you off as modern and posh.

They say walls have ears, but apparently, they tell tales of your style too!

Chad and his team were absolutely wonderful to work with. He was very professional and polite when he came to give us a quote initially, and kept us regularly updated as we awaited our estimated project completion date. His team did a great job painting our home and replacing areas of wood-rot. Everyone was very kind, and their efficiency on the day of our project was impressive. I would not hesitate to recommend Chad and his team for any painting projects.
