When you walk into your kitchen, does it scream sad and 1980s? Well, one of the easiest ways to give your kitchen a face-lift is to paint the cabinets!
It doesn’t take a lot to make one of the most popular areas of your home feel like an updated gathering spot! We can help you complete this mini makeover in just days. Our on-staff Designer can help you choose the right paint colors, as well as assist you with selecting a new counter top, back splash, and flooring.
Here’s what we did to remake the look of this kitchen just by focusing on these alder cabinets (although there are a lot of ways we can help):
- Protected Surfaces (Flooring/Walls/Ceiling/
Countertops/Backsplash/ Appliances) - Deglossed Surfaces (Using Paso – A solvent based liquid sandpaper)
- Sanded All Surfaces
- Applied Two Coats Solid Color Lacquer (Can be mixed in any color, just like paint)
- Distressed Cabinet Edges
- Applied Two Coats Clear Lacquer
- Cleaned Up & Reassembled Cabinets
Note: When using a solvent-based product, a solvent-based de-glosser must be applied, as with these cabinets. When using a latex system, be sure to use a latex de-glosser.
Another way to accomplish your kitchen-updating goal is to simply prime and paint the cabinets. This process can be performed on any pre-finished wood (Oak, Maple, Birch, Pine, or Alder). However, the look will vary slightly depending on the grain of the wood.
So, if your kitchen is ready for its close-up and needing a little refresher, this is one of the most economical, time-saving options. We’re here to refresh, refinish and re-finesse!
