This crisis has (and will continue to) change and teach us … maybe even long after it’s over.
One word we’ve seen pop up on social media and beyond that we’ve found ourselves holding onto is this: together.
In a time of isolation, we’ve seen our Liberty and Northland community band together in hundreds of different ways. Bear hunts, chalk walks, parades for essential workers – the list goes on and on.
We’ve seen people in this community show up for one another. This Great Pause has given many of us time to reflect. Although it is time when kids are running amok during homeschooling and we’re doing our jobs from home or still heading into work (thank you, essential workers), all of us have fewer social obligations and extracurricular commitments.
We’ve reflected a lot on the people in this community and how everyone has shown up for one another. People are choosing to support local businesses. And businesses are innovating and finding new ways to serve – from donating proceeds to food banks to offering completely different products.
And that’s why now is probably the best time imaginable to support local, not only by grabbing dinner or a gift card (or even giving a Google review), but also by voting for your favorite business for Best of the Northland.
Small businesses in our community are devoted to being here when all this is over. Let’s show them we’re in this together!
