The cool front has moved in and with it thoughts of sweaters, football, and a huge bowl of chili. Actually, one of the first things that come to our minds is weatherproofing your home for the fall and winter season. The last quarter of the year can wreak havoc on your home if not properly protected. If you’ve got a budding problem area foregoing treatment before the snow comes can make the issue a lot bigger and a lot more expensive.
When to examine?
Now is the perfect time to take some time to thoroughly examine your house for signs of wood rot. Begin outside looking for signs of paint peeling.
Where to examine?
Look carefully around trim and windows. It may time for a new paint job, but it could be much worse with the chance of rot.
Move inside to look for signs indoors. You may have a situation developing if you see water stains on the ceiling or walls. Again, examine your windows to look for peeling paint on the interior as well.
