Kansas City-based, family-owned Unique Painting announced a call for nominations for its inaugural “#BeUniqueChallenge,” which was created to spotlight community heroes and give a deserving Clay/Platte County Missouri Resident a Free Exterior Paint Job. If you know a local hero who makes our community a brighter and kinder place – a helpful firefighter, an inspiring veteran, a nurse or teacher that goes above and beyond, a foster parent who exudes unconditional love, a supermom, the neighborhood granddad or that amazing do-gooder whose kindness is contagious – complete the nominations form online at https://uniquepaintingkc.com/beuniquechallenge/ (nominations may be submitted anonymously, if preferred). All nominations must be received by midnight on March 31, 2019. Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of judges and the winner will be announced on April 5.
“We have been proud residents and a service provider in this community for a huge part of our lives, and we love all of the amazing people here,” said Chad Wek, president, Unique Painting. “We know of so many people who truly are local heroes for so many different and wonderful reasons – could be the role they play in protecting us, serving us or showing us what it means to be an angel here on earth. We know there are so many more examples of amazing local heroes, so we wanted to create a way to have the community paint the pictures of these heroes and then we’ll paint one of their homes for free!! Giving back to the community has always been a part of our company’s DNA so we are so thrilled to be starting what we hope to be an important, inclusive annual event.”
